Let's lie between our minds and live in a place where we're friends.

So, turns out I completely forgot about mindsay. I really have no idea if anyone uses it anymore. Do you? If I decided to start periodically posting video blogs again, would you watch them? ARE YOU THERE?

So, it turns out I need to get better at aloneness. I live in Buffalo now. Which is weird. I spent my first night without people or pets in a hotel last night and I did not care for it at all! So lonely and so much less warm! Today's my first day or work. I'm sure I'll love my job, but I really miss Zach and pets. Now I have to go move into my own apartment! Maybe there will be a kitten on the doorstep that needs taking in.

There have been alot of great things about going to App. All of those things came from fellow students.

Finally my parents agree that I should not be here anymore. Zach and I both have one more semester, but last night was the final straw when it comes to being treated poorly by my professors. Someone crossed the line and I don't think we will be back. It stinks that it takes something like this for my parents to believe that this is a hostile enviornment for theatre professionals. I'm just glad that they're supportive of me leaving now.

Even if I have to go to school for another full year, I'm not coming back!

The New Semester
A new semester!
This semester is going to be EXTREMELY busy. But really good busy.
Here are things:
1. New Play rehearsals are starting tonight. I'm rearing to go. I'm really hoping this festival turns out like I hope it will! It's just going to take a lot of dedicated, professional student. I have faith!
2. I'm taking lots of good classes. It's always important for me to WANT to go to my classes, so I do my best to plan my schedule that way. This semester I start in the early mornings with two back to back sociology classes with a professor that's pretty okay. She's not the BEST teacher but her classes are just like having an interesting discussion with a friend, so that's really nice. Also, when she has big classes like these, it's nearly impossible not to get an A. Criminology followed by Juvenile Delinquency. Pretty interesting stuff. Directly after that, I gallop across campus to  Greer where I have Acting I. I don't particularly WANT to take this class. It's required. It should be okay. I'm not a fan of the professor, but it's the sort of class where I need to commit myself to it because I'm doing scene work with other people. So it should be fine. Much later on that day I have Producting the Narrative again. A fun and easy class. Bill is a good guy. One Tuesdays and Thursdays all I have is Modern Theatre History. This is a good class for several reasons: a) Paulette is the best teacher in the department. Easily. She's great to listen to and knows what she's talking about. b) I know every person in the class (except for this REALLY random girl who sits in the corner. Where'd she come from?) and I generally like them all! c) Because everyone is in the class, I can deal with lots of other business and responsibilities right before and after this class- almost everyone I need to talk to about any sort of work is present. d) Zachary is in the class! I like Paulette classes with him. How could I not? e) We get to learn about MODERN theatre history. And I am REQUIRED to read Next to Normal. How great is that?
3. I'm pumped to work on Spelling Bee. I'm assistant directing the musical on campus this semester and I'm more than okay with it. I worked on the show this summer and loved it. Not only is it a fun show to work on,  but the show itself is really great. My parents loved it AND I loved it. Thus far, I've gained alot of respect from faculty members who I am working alongside. I've always had a problem with not feeling respected by professors etc. in the department. I was worried that during the process I would be treated like a student who didn't know what she was talking about but thus far I have been proven wrong.
4. Zachary and I have been taking on a new attitude where we don't let anything stop us. Last semester we were often stranded in our apartment for days at a time. This semester we're taking control of our own destiny! This morning, the mile long walk to the car was actually quite pleasant! We explored the temple area, trudged through the woods, had some good conversation and said good morning to some friendly horses. Now my hands smell like horses. I'm okay with it. ANYWAY, we've been being really productive. When we're at home we're usually working on something. If we're not getting short term things done (homework, cleaning, etc.) we're working on something that will help us in our future (working on our resumes, monologues, discussing what we have to accomplish to be successful in our move to NYC, and making it happen). This has lead to alot of really good experiences. And our lazy entertainment has consisted of records of plays or a thought provoking television series. I don't remember the last time we turned on the television, watched something and didn't have a really good conversation about what we watched afterward. This new attitude also includes living much more frugally and healthily. It's working out wonderfully. We're saving like crazy!
5. So, my friends are awsome and I'm hoping that this is the beginning of seeing more of them. I've already seen Erin TWICE and I've only been here one week. I had a nice dinner with Jason, Sarah, Laura, Nash, and Zaque. I've been branching out socially a bit more this semester. I am building relationships with people who DON'T live at College Place (what a novel idea)...although Jason and Derek are still sitting pretty at the top of my list. I've seen LUKE! Whaaat? I never get to see Luke!
6. Annie and Amos. <3
7. I get to do all this with someone amazing by my side. Zachary and I are on the same page more than we ever have been. It's alot easier to be the person you want to be when you have someone by your side trying to be the person THEY want to be. He's not only supportive, but he's on the journey with me. That's an amazing thing. I think this is the happiest I've ever been while going to school in my entire life. It's a good feeling!

I think everyone in the whole world should love bunnies and kittens. Why wouldn't you? I think that everyone should encourage everyone to adopt as many bunnies and kittens as they possibly can. Especially businesses. I think it's like, a civic duty.
